Europe as a Shooting Destination

The Balkan region of Europe provides numerous opportunities for the sporting gun. From high mountains and forested hillsides for the athletic through to open fields.

The region has well-managed hunting forests making it easy to access its stunning landscapes, inhabited by 18 mammal and 20 bird game species. There are also over 20 species of fish available to the recreational fisherman.

The Balkans' variety of landscapes consists of plains (200m above sea level), hilly regions (200m to 600m) and mountains (from 600m to 3000m). The weather is that of moderate continental, with temperature ranges of 22°C to 35°C in spring and summer and between -20°C to 19°C in autumn and winter.

The region has both private and state owned, fenced and unfenced shooting locations. Hobson Hunts aims to provide high-quality shooting experiences; consequently our policy is to avoid shooting in fenced areas. We also use only the best public hunting grounds that are managed with a sensitive approach to sustainable game shooting and that provide our guests the best chance of mature trophies. At the conclusion of the days sport the shot game is presented in the traditional method of 'le tableaux' (laid out for the guns inspection).
